Research Center Research and Technology Development Center is the heart of the Lodi Cluster of Innovation. Within the Center are working not only the PTP research groups, but also researchers of CNR, Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale, Istituto Spallanzani and of the Faculty ofAgriculture from the University of Milano and Catholic University of Piacenza. Ground floor hosts the companies of the Alimenta Business Incubator.
Veterinary Hospital
Veterinary Hospital for big animals of University of Milan is one of the most important structures within the Cluster of Innovation in Lodi. It's been opened in 2005 by the former Italian President Ciampi, and nowadays it hosts 70 employees of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and a hundred of students. Each year, hundreds of surgeries are carried out here, mainly on horses and bovines.
Centro Zootecnico
Centro Zootecnico Didattico Sperimentale of University of Milan has been opened by the Minister of Agriculture, Luca Zaia, in 2008. It comprises experimental stables for the study of the best breeding practices and for research in the field of livestock. The facilities includes a lab workshop, a structure for meat processing and one for milk processing.
House of Agriculture
The House of Agriculture will act as a bridge between research and the world of agriculture and livestock. It will gather together the main institutions active in the field, ensuring a constant dialogue between the researchers of the Cluster and the world of production. Technology transfer initiatives will transform acquired knowledge in opportunities for the territory and the country.
Faculty of Agriculture
Branch labs of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Milan will be opened within the Cluster of Innovation in Lodi within the next years. The Departments of the Faculty with interests in biotechnology will be moved in Lodi, in order to foster the creation of a Center of Excellence able to link base research, applied research and the world of production.
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
The complete relocation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine within the Cluster of Innovation in Lodi is not yet completed. It has been confirmed by the signature of the III "Accordo di Programma". Once all the structures will be built, almost 2500 people (teachers, researchers and students) will study and work in an environment rich in innovation.
IZSLER
The Cluster of Innovation of Lodi hosts a branch of Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale of Lombardia and Emilia Romagna. Lodi Center offers to breeders diagnostic services to control animal diseases and zoonoses, food control activities and analytical and consulting support. IZSLER carries on research activities in biotechnology applied to veterinary medicine.
CIDiS
The Consorzio pubblico Interuniversitario per la gestione degli intterventi per il Diritto allo Studio universitario (C.I.Di.S.) of University of Milan will be hosted within the renovated Cascina Codazza, an historical "cascina" of the Lodi territory which gives its name to the area. The renovaiton project made it possible to couple the conservation of an historical building with the new functional needs.

Parco Tecnologico Padano

Logo_PTP_piccoloParco Tecnologico Padano is the engine of the Lodi Cluster which hosts many organisations involved in the ag-biotech sector, including: the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Agricultural Sciences of the University of Milan, and public and private research labs. The Park also hosts an enterprise Incubator which makes Lodi one of the main European Agro-Biotech Clusters.

 

The mission of PTP is to build a business-oriented research network in ag-biotech able to:

  • address regional needs,
  • perform cutting-edge research to support innovation in the agro-food sector,
  • promote the creation of start-up and spin-off companies by offering know-how, incubator facilities and administrative services.

The activities at Parco Tecnologico Padano are carried out in collaboration with producer associations, processors, retailers and other stakeholders.
