On October 6th and 7th PTP will host a Meeting of the Project INTERPLAY - Interplay of microbiota and gut function in the developing pig – Innovative avenues towards sustainable animal production.

In a multidisciplinary consortium, comprising 11 public and private partners from across and beyond Europe with complementary expertise in gut microbiomics, immunology and physiology, and animal genomics and nutrition, INTERPLAY will apply an integrated approach to arrive at a sound understanding of the interaction of early colonization of the intestine and the development of gut function. This knowledge will be exploited for the identification of innovative management strategies that address host genotype as well as nutritional means to provide a framework for sustainable animal production at high food and consumer safety and improved animal health and welfare.

PTP will take care of the organization of the catering service (lunch and coffee breaks, for both the days) and of a social dinner: the approximate cost will be around 100€ for each participant (to be paid at PTP, by bank transfer or on site). Social dinner is facultative, if you don’t participate the cost will be around 35-40 euro less. PTP will provide a receipt for the reimbursement.

Accomodation

PTP has an agreement with two hotels in Lodi, Concorde and Europa. Single room will be 70€ including continental breakfast, see websites below for further info. Both Hotels are 3 stars, very close to the railway station in the city centre. A shuttle bus connects the train station with PTP (LINE bus number 4, direction Università).

Travel Info

There are three airports near Milan:

• from Milan LINATE to Lodi, it will take about 30 minutes by car;
• from Milan MALPENSA to Lodi, it will take about 1 hour and a half by car;
• from ORIO AL SERIO (Bergamo) to Lodi, it will take about 1 hour by car.

All the airports are connected by bus with Milan Centrale railway station (bus timetables available online). From Malpensa Airport a train connection is available as well. Train connection from Milano Centrale to Lodi requires 30 minutes. Taxis form Linate to Lodi will cost around 80€.
