Overview
Our laboratory is set up to offer a complete service to create biorepository of biological samples and nucleic acid. Purification of DNA or RNA is the first step in any genetic study; long term storage of good quality nucleic acid is an important property for different purposes.
Automated samples and nucleic acids management has advantages in term of traceability (barcodes, export files from different labwares with coordinates and volumes, robot log and error-files), high-throughput and precision (reproducibility, repeatability and low errors rate). With our Tecan Freedom Evo 150A, equipped with a POS-ID system to read barcodes from different labwares we can process different kind of liquid starting material (serum, blood, DNA/RNA, homogenized tissues, bacterial cultures) organized in different kind of support: vials (eppendorf, cryotubes, vacutainers) or plates (96 or 384MPT, deep-wells).
After re-organization in plates, samples are stored in our -80°C biorepository. Upon request we can quickly create child-plate from mother plate. For DNA and RNA we can offer also quantification and normalization via fluorescence and absorbance measurement.
What we need
To create biorepository we just need starting material and sample information. You can sent us vacutainers, eppendorf, deep-well plates or every kind of plastic labware; we will organize samples in storage plates (different plates according with sample volume) and we will send to you file with sample coordinates inside plates.
