Good ideas not always find their ways to the market. Scientists often don’t know where to start to commercialise their inventions and too many times the idea finishes in a folder or drawer. The initiative Incubatore ALIMENTA attempts to bridge the gap between research and market for the Agro-Food and Health sectors by offering support to academic and company spin offs and start ups and is facilitated also thanks to the support of the City of Milan.

ALIMENTA intends to be an Incubator for academic and company spin offs and start up enterprises in the Agro-Food and Health sector. Thanks to the various services and incentives that the Incubator offers, the new enterprises can get off the ground and grow more easy to a successful company.

The initiative supports potential entrepreneurs in the difficult phase of transforming a scientific idea into a commercial activity. In the Pre-Incubation Phase the Incubator helps entrepreneurs to verify the sustainability of the project and selects the most promising ideas. In the Incubation Phase that follows, the new enterprise will be offered support in the accomplishing of the business plan and will also be offered juridical, financial and organisational advice.

The Incubator is located in the Parco Tecnologico Padano, the most important cluster in the Agro-Food Biotechnology sector in Italy, with presence of University, private research labs and a business park, that strengthen each other reciprocally.

How to profit of Alimenta

The Incubator is open all year to welcoming promising initiatives. To profit of the advantages of the Incubatore ALIMENTA entrepreneurs need to meet some requirements.

The ideas and enterprises will be selected based on their technological creativity and the compatibility with the PTP mission, taking into account economy and efficiency of the ideas. The Incubator will treat all ideas equally and will be impartial, and will operate transparently.

The ideas should fit in the optimal balance and strengthen the other activities. To evaluate the sustainability of the proposal, the Incubatore ALIMENTA offers the possibility to present the idea to an expert panel, that will help the entrepreneurs to resolve problems and to identify opportunities. They will also give practical advices to valorise the idea.

Already various entrepreneurs found their way to the PTP, to optimise their value and to grow to maturity, becoming an opportunity for the development of the region.
